Enrollment & Privacy Policy

Enrollment Policy

Please register well before the beginning date of your course. If you wait, your course may either be full or canceled because of low enrollment. All course registrations in Continuing Education are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Only students who have pre-registered and paid for a course may attend a Continuing Education course. No individual can substitute for a registered student, and non-registered guests are not permitted to attend the courses.

Guidelines for Continuing Education Scholarship Awards
Purpose:
The purpose of these guidelines is to ensure equitable distribution of Continuing Education Scholarship funds while supporting student access across multiple eligible courses.

Guidelines Statement:
Students are eligible to receive one Continuing Education Scholarship per term for eligible courses at Blue Ridge Community College. A student may not receive scholarships for multiple courses in the same term. Students must successfully complete the course and demonstrate satisfactory participation before being awarded another scholarship in a future term. Additionally, no more than one scholarship may be awarded for the same course.

Scope:
These guidelines apply to all students enrolled in Continuing Education courses who apply for Blue Ridge Community College Continuing Education Scholarship funding allocated through the Blue Ridge Community College Educational Foundation.

Eligibility and Restrictions:
  • A student must complete the Continuing Education Scholarship application and provide all required information to be considered for a scholarship.
  • A student may be awarded only one Continuing Education Scholarship per term or defined timeframe set forth by the Vice President and Continuing Education Scholarship Committee for any eligible course.
  • Students must successfully complete and demonstrate satisfactory participation in any prior course that was paid for by Continuing Education Scholarship funds.
  • A student who is unsuccessful in completing a course funded by a scholarship will not be eligible for another scholarship until successfully completing another Continuing Education course.
  • Scholarships are non-transferable between courses or individuals and are only intended for the course for which the student applied. However, scholarships may be transferred between different offerings of the same course in any future term within the same scholarship year.
Exceptions:
Exceptions to these guidelines may be granted only under extraordinary circumstances and must be approved by the appropriate Vice President and the Continuing Education Scholarship Committee. All exceptions must be documented in writing.

Administration of Scholarship Awards:
The College will maintain detailed records of scholarship awards to ensure that no student receives more than one scholarship per course and term, or within a defined timeframe established by the Vice President and the Continuing Education Scholarship Committee. The Continuing Education Scholarship Committee is responsible for verifying student eligibility and any prior scholarship awards.

Review Cycle:
These guidelines will be reviewed periodically and may be updated as needed to reflect Blue Ridge Community College priorities and resource availability.
